Voice Input

Talk instead of typing: Viro turns what you say into text in the message box, so you can check it before sending. Viro can also read its replies aloud.

   Select the microphone

   It's next to the send button. Tap it to start recording, or hold it while you talk.

   Speak naturally

   Your words appear in the message box as you talk.

   Stop and review

   Tap the microphone again (Stop recording), or let go if you were holding it. Fix anything that's off.

   Send

   Send the message when it looks right.

On a computer, you can also hold Ctrl + Space to talk and let go to stop.

Voice input listens in the language you've chosen for Viro: English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, Ελληνικά, العربية, 中文, Slovenčina, or Svenska. If your device uses a regional version of that language, like Mexican Spanish, Viro uses it. To change the language, see My Account.

Viro uses your phone's or browser's built-in speech recognition. If your browser doesn't support it, you'll see a message saying so. Try a current version of Chrome, Edge, or Safari, or use the Viro app.

Speech recognition can mishear names, technical terms, or speech in noisy places, so review the text before sending.

Under a reply, open the … (More options) menu and select Read aloud. Select Stop reading to stop.

To change the voice, open Settings and, under Account, set Voice to Female or Male.
