Open Viro

    Notebook

Notebook is a workspace for your own sources. Add documents, websites, YouTube videos, notes, and files from your drives, then ask questions with cited answers and turn your sources into reports, slide decks, quizzes, flash cards, and audio overviews.

How do I create a notebook?

    1. Open Work > Notebook

      It's in the sidebar.
    2. Select Create Notebook

      A new Untitled notebook opens.
    3. Add sources

Use Add source to bring in what you want to work with.

To rename a notebook, add a cover photo, or delete it, open the … menu on its card. Featured Notebooks from Viro are read-only.

    What sources can I add?

    • Upload File: PDF, EPUB, Word (.docx), TXT, Markdown, CSV, or JSON, up to 25 MB each. You can also drag files in.
    • Website URL: Viro reads the page.
    • YouTube Video: Viro uses the transcript.
    • Paste Text: notes or excerpts, with an optional title.
    • Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or Notion: up to 10 items at a time, once they're connected.

Each source shows Processing… until it's ready. If one fails, use Retry in its menu.

How do I ask questions about my sources?

Use the Chat panel. Viro answers only from the sources that are selected and ready, and cites them as [#1], [#2], and so on. Select a citation to see the passage it came from. To leave a source out of answers, turn off Include in chat retrieval in its menu.

What can I create from my sources?

The Create panel turns your ready sources into:

    • Report: choose Executive summary, Research report, Briefing document, or Study guide, and a length (Brief, Standard, or Detailed). Add who it's for and what to focus on. Download it as PDF or Word.
    • Slide deck: choose a style (Professional, Minimal, Educational, or Bold), the number of slides, audience, focus, and whether to include speaker notes. Present it, or download it as PowerPoint or PDF.
    • Audio Overview, Quiz, and Flash Cards for listening and studying.

Use Regenerate or Delete from an item's menu to redo or remove it.

Should I use a notebook or a project?

Use a notebook when you want answers grounded strictly in a set of sources, plus reports and study materials. Use a project to keep everyday chats organized with shared instructions and context. Answers can still miss details, so check important points against the cited source.
