    Temporary Chat

    Temporary Chat is a conversation that isn't saved. It won't appear in your chat history, and it doesn't read or update your memory.

    How do I start a Temporary Chat?

    1. Start a new chat

      Select New chat in the sidebar. Temporary Chat isn't available inside a project.

    2. Turn on Temporary Chat

      Select the Temporary Chat icon at the top of the chat. It changes to "Temporary Chat is ON".

    3. Send your first message

      The screen shows "This conversation won't be saved." Chat as you normally would.

    Turn it on before you send your first message. After that, the chat stays temporary until you leave it.

    What isn't saved?

    Nothing from a Temporary Chat is kept in your account

    The conversation, its title, and any files you attach aren't saved, and the chat never appears in your history.
    • Memory: Temporary Chat doesn't use what Viro remembers about you, and nothing you say is added to memory.
    • Chat actions: Branch in new chat and Delete turn aren't available.

    How do I leave a Temporary Chat?

    Open any saved chat from the sidebar. The temporary conversation ends and can't be reopened, so copy anything you want to keep first.

    When should I use Temporary Chat?

    • Quick, one-off questions
    • Topics you'd rather not keep in your history
    • Asking something without it shaping Viro's memory of you

    Does Temporary Chat use my memory?

    No. A Temporary Chat doesn't read what Viro remembers about you and doesn't add anything to memory.

    Can I reopen a Temporary Chat later?

    No. It isn't saved to your account, so once you leave it, it's gone.

    Can I turn a regular chat into a Temporary Chat?

    No. Turn on Temporary Chat in a new chat before you send your first message.
