Personalization

Personalization tells Viro who you are and how you like answers, so replies fit you better. You can add your name, a little about yourself, custom instructions, and turn on location for local answers. Everything is optional.

   Open Customize

   Select Customize in the sidebar, then Personalization.

   Fill in what you want

   Any of the four settings below. Leave the rest blank.

   Select Save

   The Save button appears once you change something.

• Name — what Viro should call you.
• More About You — background that makes answers more relevant, like your job, where you live, interests, or what you're learning.
• Custom Instructions — how you want Viro to respond, for example "Keep answers short," "Use bullet points," or "Explain things step by step."
• Enable Location — lets Viro use your approximate location for weather and local answers.

Viro uses the first 500 characters of More About You and of Custom Instructions, so put the most important points first.

Location is off until you turn on Enable Location. When it's on, Viro uses your approximate location only for the request you're making, for things like weather and nearby places. It's never saved to your account.

On iPhone and Android, your device asks for permission the first time. If you said no and want to turn it back on:

• Android: Settings › Apps › Viro AI › Permissions › Location

Viro applies it when it helps, and leaves it out of factual, code, and math questions. Built-in personas have their own personality, so your personalization doesn't apply in those chats. AI models may not follow every instruction perfectly.

Personalization is what you write yourself. Memory is what Viro picks up from your chats over time. You can manage both in Customize. See Memory.
