    iCloud Mail

    Connect iCloud Mail and Viro can search your inbox, summarize messages, and help you draft replies. Viro can't send, move, or delete email, and reading a message in Viro doesn't mark it as read.

    What can Viro do with iCloud Mail?

    • Search or list your email, including by date
    • Open and read a full message
    • Draft a reply in the chat for you to copy and send

    Viro can't:

    • Send email
    • Move, delete, or mark messages as read

    How do I connect iCloud Mail?

    1. Open Customize > Integrations

      Select Customize in the sidebar, then Integrations.

    2. Select Connect on the iCloud Mail row

      A Connect iCloud window opens. Tick both iCloud Calendar and iCloud Mail to connect them together.

    3. Create an app-specific password

      Select Open Apple Account settings and sign in. Under Sign-In and Security, choose App-Specific Passwords, create one named Viro AI, and copy it. Apple shows it only once, and your Apple Account needs two-factor authentication.

    4. Enter your Apple Account email and the password

      Paste the password, then select Connect. Viro checks it with Apple before saving it.

    What can I ask?

    Once it's connected, just ask in any chat. For example:

    • "Do I have any emails I need to answer?"
    • "What did the school email say about Friday?"
    • "Draft a reply saying I'll be there."

    Do I need an iCloud email address?

    Yes. iCloud Mail only works if iCloud Mail is turned on for your Apple Account, with an address ending in @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com. To check on your iPhone, go to Settings, tap your name, then iCloud. If your Apple Account uses a different email, like Gmail, Viro asks for your iCloud Mail address when you connect. iCloud Calendar works either way.

    How many emails can Viro look at?

    Each search returns 10 messages by default and up to 25. Searches cover your inbox and Archive. To find older mail, narrow your request by sender, subject, or date.

    Why don't drafted replies include my name?

    Viro learns your name from iCloud Calendar. If you've connected only iCloud Mail, drafts leave the sign-off for you to add.

    Why did iCloud Mail stop working?

    The app-specific password was removed, or you changed your Apple Account password, which cancels all of your app-specific passwords. The row then shows Reconnect needed. Create a new app-specific password and connect again. That reconnects iCloud Calendar too.

    How do I disconnect iCloud Mail?

    In Customize > Integrations, select Disconnect on the iCloud Mail row. This deletes the connection and the password Viro stored. Your past chats aren't deleted. The app-specific password keeps working with Apple until you remove it: at account.apple.com, go to Sign-In and Security > App-Specific Passwords and remove Viro AI.

    Is my iCloud Mail data private?

    Viro reads your iCloud Mail data only to answer what you ask. It's never used to train AI models, and Viro never sells your data. Your app-specific password is stored encrypted.
