Memory

Memory lets Viro remember helpful details about you across chats, like your preferences, projects, and goals, so you don't have to repeat yourself. You can see, edit, and delete everything it remembers, or turn memory off.

As you chat, Viro saves details that are likely to be useful later. In each new reply, it brings in the memories most relevant to what you're asking. You can also add memories yourself.

• Viro keeps up to 50 memories.
• Time-bound details, like an upcoming trip or exam, expire after 14 days so they don't linger once they're out of date.
• When you reach 50, Viro automatically removes a few of the oldest memories it hasn't used, to make room.

Select Customize in the sidebar, then Memory. Each memory shows a category, such as Preference, Work, or Goal. Once you have six or more, you can filter by category.

• Edit or delete: point to a memory to show the pencil (edit) and trash (delete) icons.
• Add: select Add Memory, type it, for example "I prefer concise answers," and select Add.

There's no single button to delete every memory yet. Delete them one at a time, or turn memory off to stop Viro from using them.

Yes, right in a regular chat:

• To remember: start with "Remember that…," "Save to memory…," or "Note to self…." Viro replies Got it — I'll remember that, or tells you if it already has it saved.
• To forget: say "Forget that…" or "Delete the memory about…." Viro shows up to three matches. Reply with the number to delete, or say "cancel."

Questions like "Do you remember…?" are answered normally and don't change your memory. Memory commands don't work in Temporary Chats or persona chats.

• Anything from a Temporary Chat. Temporary Chats don't use or update memory.
• Roleplay, fiction, and in-character play, so a story you write doesn't become a "fact" about you.

Deleting a chat doesn't delete what Viro remembered from it. Remove those memories in Customize > Memory or ask Viro to forget them.

In Customize > Memory, turn off Enable cross-chat memory. Viro stops saving new memories and stops using saved ones in replies. Turn it back on any time.
