Connect Hevy and Viro can build a training plan around how you train and set it up as routines in Hevy. It can also adjust a routine, log a workout you did, and answer questions about your training. Every addition or change is shown on a card first, and nothing reaches Hevy until you confirm.
- Look at your routines and folders, your recent workouts (up to 60), and what you've lifted on an exercise
- Find exercises in your Hevy library, so a plan uses the exercises Hevy already has
- Add a plan's routines to Hevy, up to seven at a time, in a folder of their own, after you confirm
- Change a routine: swap an exercise, change the sets, add or remove an exercise, reorder, or rename it, after you confirm
- Log a workout you did, or correct one you already logged, after you confirm
- Add a custom exercise when your library doesn't have it, after you confirm
- Read your body measurements when you ask about them, and log your weight or other measurements, after you confirm
Viro can't:
- Delete anything in Hevy, or undo a change once it's made
- Track a workout while you train, or log one without you telling it what you did
- Diagnose conditions or give medical advice
Open Customize > Connectors
Select Customize in the sidebar, then Connectors.Open Hevy and select Connect to Viro
A Connect Hevy window opens.Create an API key in Hevy
Select Open Hevy's developer settings. Sign in to Hevy on the web and create a key on that page. API keys need Hevy Pro.Paste the key and connect
Paste it into Paste your API key, then select Connect. Viro checks the key with Hevy before saving it.
Once it's connected, just ask in any chat. For example:
- "Build me a 4-day gym plan and set it up in Hevy."
- "Swap bench press for incline dumbbell press in my Upper A routine."
- "How has my squat gone this month?"
- "Log today's workout: squats, 3 sets of 5 at 100 kg, then 2 planks of 60 seconds. I started at 6 pm and it took 45 minutes."
- "Log my weight: 82.4 kg this morning."
Not medical advice
No. Viro shows a card with exactly what it will do, marked Needs your OK. Nothing changes until you select the card's button: Add to Hevy, Save to Hevy, or Log workout. Select Cancel to drop it. To change what's on a card, ask Viro for it again with the difference.
Not from Viro. Hevy keeps no earlier version of a routine or workout, and Viro can't delete anything in Hevy. A change card lists each change in words and shows the whole routine as it will be, so read it before you confirm. To remove a routine, a workout, a custom exercise, or a measurement, delete it in Hevy.
Viro changes only what you asked for. The exercises and sets you didn't mention stay as they were. If a routine has changed in Hevy since the card was made, Viro doesn't send the change. Ask for it again.
Only you, unless you ask Viro to share it with your followers. If you ask Viro to correct a workout you already logged, it's saved as private, and the card says so first. You can share it again in Hevy.
Hevy's API keys cover your whole Hevy account and don't expire. Viro stores yours encrypted and uses it only for what's listed on this page.
If you delete the key in Hevy, or your Hevy Pro subscription ends, Hevy shows Reconnect needed. Create a new key in Hevy and paste it in.

Does Viro change my Hevy routines without asking?
No. Viro shows each addition or change on a card first, and nothing reaches Hevy until you confirm it.
Do I need Hevy Pro to connect Hevy to Viro?
Yes. Viro connects with an API key you create in Hevy, and Hevy offers API keys only with Hevy Pro.
