Connect Gmail and Viro can search your email, read full threads, pick out the messages still waiting on you, and write reply drafts that you send yourself. Viro never sends or deletes email.

• Search your email, including archived mail, by sender, subject, date, or Gmail search terms
• Read a message or a whole thread, including your own replies
• Find the emails from real people that still need an answer
• Write a reply or a new email, and save it to your Gmail Drafts when you ask

Viro can't:

• Send email
• Delete, move, label, or mark messages as read
• Open attachments (Viro sees their names only)

   Open Customize > Connectors

   Select Customize in the sidebar, then Connectors.

   Open Gmail and select Connect to Viro

   A Connect Gmail window opens.

   Create an app password

   Select Open Google app passwords and sign in. Name the password Viro AI and copy the 16-letter password. Google shows it only once, and your Google Account needs 2-Step Verification turned on.

   Enter your Gmail address and the app password

   Paste the app password, not your regular Google password, then select Connect. Viro checks it with Google before saving it.

Once it's connected, just ask in any chat. For example:

• "What emails do I need to reply to?"
• "Summarize the thread from Alex about the launch."
• "Find the receipt from last week with an attachment."
• "Draft a reply saying I can meet Tuesday, and save it to my drafts."

An app password is a separate password you create in your Google Account for one app. You can remove it at any time without changing your Google password. Work and school accounts sometimes have app passwords turned off. If yours does, ask your administrator.

Yes. Open Gmail in Customize > Connectors and select Add account. Each address needs its own app password. Viro searches all of them together, and a reply draft is saved in the account the original email came to.

Ask Viro to draft a reply or a new email and it shows the draft on a card, with who it's from and to. Select Edit to change the wording, Copy to copy it, or Save to Gmail Drafts to put it in your Drafts folder, threaded under the original message. Then open Gmail, check it, and send it yourself. Nothing is ever sent from Viro.

Each search returns 10 messages by default and up to 25. Search covers all your mail except Sent, Drafts, and chats. To find older mail, narrow your request by sender, subject, or date. Very long messages are read in part.

The two usual causes are entering your regular Google password in place of an app password, and IMAP being turned off. To turn IMAP on, open Gmail's settings, go to Forwarding and POP/IMAP, and enable IMAP. If Gmail stops working later, the app password was probably removed. Create a new one and select Reconnect.
