Today puts your day on one page: your next meeting, today's schedule, the messages, emails, and to-dos waiting on you, and what's coming up. It reads the apps you've connected, so it's as useful as what you connect.
Select Today near the top of the sidebar, under New chat. With nothing connected yet, the page offers Connect buttons for Google, Microsoft, and Slack, and a See all connections link. See Connectors for every app you can add.
- Up next: your next meeting, with its time, place or video call, and who's attending. It reads Happening now once the meeting starts. In the evening, a Tomorrow card shows the next day's first event instead.
- Today: every event on your calendars today, in order, with past ones crossed out.
- Needs you: what's waiting on you. Slack mentions and group messages, calendar invites you haven't answered, emails that need a reply, to-dos due today or overdue, and schoolwork that's due or late.
- Courses: each class with its grade and how many assignments are missing.
- Recent Files: files, Notion pages, issues, and Write documents you've touched in the last two days.
- Wearables: today's numbers from WHOOP or Oura, such as recovery, readiness, and sleep.
- Looking ahead: the next three days of events and deadlines.
The top of the page shows the date, the local weather, and a recovery or readiness score if you've connected a wearable. A section appears only when a connected app has something for it.
- Calendar: Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, iCloud Calendar
- Email: Gmail, Outlook Mail, iCloud Mail
- To-dos: Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do, Todoist
- Messages: Slack mentions and group messages. Viro never shows one-to-one direct messages here.
- School: Canvas, Google Classroom
- Recent files: Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Notion, GitHub, Linear, Jira, and your Write documents
- Health: WHOOP, Oura
- Open anything: select an event, message, file, or class to open it in its own app.
- Join a video call from the Up next card.
- Prep me: opens a chat that prepares a short brief for your next meeting.
- Mark done: select the circle on a to-do to complete it in Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do, or Todoist.
- Accept or Decline an invite on Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar. The organizer is notified.
- Draft: on an email or Slack mention, opens a chat that drafts a reply. Viro never sends the email or posts the message from this page.
- Ask: on any other item, starts a question about it.
Marking a to-do done and answering an invite are the only things Today changes in your apps, and each happens only when you select its button. The box at the bottom, Ask about your day…, opens a new chat with your day attached, so you can ask things like "Summarize my day" or "Help me plan tomorrow."
Select the settings icon at the top right. Under Show, turn sections on or off: Weather, Needs you, Courses, Recent Files, Wearables, and Looking ahead. You can also turn on Weekends in Looking ahead, and turn AI summaries off. Your choices are saved to your account, so they apply on every device. Manage connections opens the Connectors page.
AI summaries add one short line under an email or group message saying what the sender needs. They're written from the subject and a short preview, not the full message. Weather uses your device's location, so turning it on asks for location permission.
Today refreshes when you open it or come back to it, and keeps what it loaded for up to ten minutes. Select the Refresh arrow to load it again now. Times and "today" follow your device's time zone. If one app can't be read, the page says Some of your day didn't load and offers Try again. If a connection has expired, the page shows a Reconnect button for it.
Needs you shows up to 12 items, most urgent first, with overdue work at the top. Email covers the last three days and leaves out newsletters and automated mail. To-dos include anything overdue by up to 30 days. Lists show five rows at first. Select See more for the rest.
Does Today send emails or post to Slack?
No. Draft opens a chat that writes a reply for you to send yourself. Today only completes a to-do or answers a calendar invite, and only when you select the button.
Can I hide sections of Today?
Yes. Select the settings icon at the top right and turn sections off under Show. Up next and Today's schedule always stay.
Why is my Today page empty?
Today reads the apps you've connected. Connect a calendar, email, Slack, or a to-do app and it fills in.
