Stories

Stories drop you into a world with a cast of characters and a situation already in motion. Name your character, then play the scene by talking to the cast or narrating what happens.

   Open Stories

   Select Stories in the sidebar.

   Pick a story

   Select Open on a card to see the premise, the cast, who you are, and your goal.

   Name your character

   Up to 60 characters. This is what the cast will call you.

   Select Begin

   You arrive mid-scene. The opening is already written for you.

You can browse stories without an account. Sign in to begin one.

• Speak as your character. Type what you say or do. The cast responds in character.
• Narrate. Tap the button with your character's name to switch to Narrate, then describe what happens in the scene. Tap it again to go back.
• What happens next? Let the narrator move the story forward a step. It never acts for your character. On a phone it's labeled Next?
• You could… Tap one of the suggested actions under the latest reply to use it as your line.

To review the premise, your role, your goal, and the cast, open the menu at the top and select About this story.

Each story you start is saved as a chat named after the story, so you can pick it up again from your chat history.

Stories are PG-13. Romance is fine, but nothing explicit. Horror comes from dread and tension, never gore. Casts are adults. Some stories show a content note on their card, like Horror. Dread and unease; no gore. The same safety rules as personas apply, so the scene stops if you seem to be in crisis.

Yes. On the Stories page, select Submit and fill in:

• Story title and the idea
• Genre, and who the player is
• Up to 6 characters, each with a name, description, and optional image

Select Send it. Only you and the Viro team can see what you send, and the team reviews every idea.
