Connect Google Classroom and Viro can tell you what's due, what you've missed, and how you're doing, and help with an assignment using your teacher's own instructions. Viro never turns in work or posts anything.
- See your classes, with an estimate of your overall grade when your teacher shows grades
- List what's due, what's missing, and what was graded recently, across every class
- Read an assignment's instructions, rubric, and attached files and links, plus your own submission
- Read the announcements and materials your teachers post
Viro can't:
- Turn in or unsubmit work, comment, or post
- Open the contents of Google Drive files attached to an assignment (it sees their names and links)
- See your classmates or their work
Open Customize > Connectors
Select Customize in the sidebar, then Connectors.Open Google Classroom and select Connect to Viro
A window shows what Viro can see. Select Continue with Google.Choose your school account
Pick the Google account you use for Classroom, then allow access.Check that it's connected
Back in Viro, Google Classroom is listed under Yours, with your school email.
Once it's connected, just ask in any chat. For example:
- "What's due this week?"
- "Do I have any missing assignments?"
- "How am I doing in Biology?"
- "Help me get started on my lab report."
- "Did my teacher post anything about the quiz?"
Your school decides which apps can use school Google accounts. At most schools, students under 18 can't use an app until an IT admin approves it, and Google shows Access blocked or says your admin needs to review Viro AI. Select Request access if Google offers it, or send this page to your teacher or your school's IT team. The steps they need are below.
You probably connected a personal Google account instead of your school one. Disconnect Google Classroom and connect again, choosing the account you use for Classroom. Viro shows active classes where you're a student.
Google Classroom doesn't give apps your overall grade, so Viro works it out from the grades your teachers have returned, the way Classroom does, and marks it with a ~ to show it's an estimate. If your teacher hides the overall grade, Viro doesn't show one either. Your teacher's gradebook is the official grade.
Work that's past its due date and not turned in. If your teacher excused an assignment, it can still look missing to Viro, so check with your teacher if something seems wrong.
Connect Canvas too, and Viro shows your work from both together.
Students connect their own Classroom to ask Viro AI about their assignments, due dates, and grades. Access is read-only: Viro AI can't turn in work, change grades, or post, and it never sees other students' information. It never sells Classroom data or uses it to train AI models. In the Google Admin console:
Open app access control
Go to Security > Access and data control > API controls, then Manage Third-Party App Access.Add Viro AI
Select Configure new app and search for Viro AI, or for this OAuth client ID:455408783971-ae5e3g88vti6h8kuieo6rc7n534cqhio.apps.googleusercontent.comChoose who can use it
Pick the organizational units or groups, for example your students.Set the access level
Choose Trusted, or Specific Google data with the Classroom scopes listed below. Students under 18 need this before they can connect.
Viro AI asks for these scopes, plus the student's email address to label the connection:
classroom.courses.readonly— The classes the student is enrolled inclassroom.coursework.me.readonly— Assignments and the student's own submissions and gradesclassroom.announcements.readonly— Class announcementsclassroom.courseworkmaterials.readonly— Class materialsclassroom.topics.readonly— Topic names
Changes can take up to 24 hours to apply. If you've turned off Classroom API access for students (Apps > Google Workspace > Classroom > Data access), turn it on for the same students too.
See all connectors.
Why does Google say Access blocked?
Your school hasn't approved Viro AI yet. Students under 18 usually need an IT admin to allow the app first. Use Request access, or send your school the steps on this page.
Can Viro turn in my work?
No. Access is read-only, so Viro can't turn in or unsubmit work, comment, or post.
