How Impact Works

Viro's climate impact works in three steps: estimate the energy of every message, match it with new clean energy, and put remaining profits into climate restoration. Viro also cuts energy use by sizing the model to the task.

   Viro estimates the energy your message used, based on the tokens it took, and shows it as ⚡ under the reply.

   Match

   Viro funds new solar, wind, and hydro generation to cover that energy. Viro AI is labeled 100% clean energy; other models are labeled Energy matched.

   Restore

   Viro's remaining profits fund climate restoration, starting with The Ocean Cleanup.

When you use Viro AI, simple questions go to small, efficient models and larger models handle complex tasks. Viro's own usage data puts the saving at roughly 14x compared with sending every request to the most capable model.
