Files & Uploads

Add photos, PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and code to a chat, then ask Viro about them. You can attach up to 10 files per message, up to 15 MB each.

   Open the + menu

   It's next to the message box.

   Select Add photos & files

   Then choose Upload photo or file, or pick a connected Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.

   Say what you want

   Add a question or instruction, like "Summarize this in five bullet points", and send.

Other ways to add files:

• Drag and drop files onto the chat on a computer.
• Take Photo from the + menu in the iOS and Android apps.
• Paste Text from the + menu to add a long piece of text. Long pastes also turn into a Pasted text chip automatically.

• Images — photos and screenshots
• Documents — PDF, Word (.doc, .docx), text (.txt), and Markdown (.md)
• Spreadsheets — Excel (.xls, .xlsx) and CSV
• Presentations — PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx)
• Code — including .js, .ts, .py, .html, .css, .json, .sql, .java, .c, .cpp, .go, .rb, .rs, and .sh

Inside a project, spreadsheets and presentations can't be attached to chats yet.

• Up to 10 files per message
• Up to 15 MB per file, and 30 MB per message in total
• For very long documents, Viro reads roughly the first 40,000 characters of text

Viro pulls the text out of documents, spreadsheets, and code. When you attach a photo or a PDF, Viro answers that message with a model that can see images and page layouts, whichever model you had selected. See AI Models.

Files stay with the chat you added them to. To see them, open the … menu at the top of the chat and select View Files / Sources, then the Files tab. You can delete a file there.

• "Summarize this PDF in five bullet points."
• "Explain this chart in simple terms."
• "What does this contract say about cancellation?"
• "Find any deadlines or action items."
• "Compare the main differences between these files."

Viro can miss details in scanned pages, complex layouts, small text, or blurry photos. Check important information against the original file.
