Appearance

Appearance is where you set how Viro looks: light or dark, how big the text is, and the photo behind your chats. Select Customize in the sidebar, then Appearance.

Set Theme to Light, Dark, or System. System follows your device, so Viro turns dark when your phone or computer does. Your choice is saved to your account, so it applies everywhere you sign in.

   Select Customize in the sidebar, then Appearance.

   Find Text size

   It sits under Theme.

   Pick a size

   Choose a larger or smaller size. The default is marked (default).

Text size applies to the device you set it on, so you can have larger text on your phone and leave your computer as it is.

Yes. Under Chat background, select Choose photo and pick a photo from your device. It then sits behind every chat, with your messages and Viro's replies over the top. Come back any time to Change photo or Remove it.

Viro strips the location and camera details out of the photo when it uploads, so they are not stored with it.

   Open the chat

   Any chat can have a photo of its own.

   Open the ⋯ menu

   It's in the top bar, next to New chat.

   Select Add background

   Pick a photo. That chat uses it instead of your default.

Once a chat has one, the same menu offers Change background and Remove background. Removing it puts the chat back to your default.

Yes. When you create or edit a persona, add a Chat background there, and chats with that persona use it. If you share the persona, everyone who chats with it sees that photo too, once the persona has been approved. See Personas.

• The chat's own photo, if it has one.
• Otherwise the persona's photo, if you are chatting with a persona that has one.
• Otherwise the default photo you set in Customize > Appearance.

With no photo anywhere, chats use the plain background of your theme. For the rest of your settings, see My Account.
