Chat

Chat is where you talk to Viro: ask questions, write and edit, brainstorm, get coding help, translate, and work with files and photos. Chat is unlimited on every plan, including Free.

   Select New chat

   It's at the top of the sidebar. You can also select the viro logo.

   Type your message

   Use the message box that says "What's on your mind today?"

   Send it

   Press Enter or select the send button. Viro answers in a few seconds.

Keep asking follow-up questions in the same chat. Viro uses the conversation so far as context, so you don't need to repeat yourself. To use a different model, see AI Models.

The + button next to the message box opens these options:

• Web search — see live web results. Web Search in Chat
• Research — a cited report from many web sources. Research
• Create Image — make or edit an image. Image Generation
• Skills — use a skill you've added. Skills
• Connections — bring in a connected app. Integrations
• Take Photo — in the iOS and Android apps.
• Add photos & files — upload from your device or a connected drive. Files & Uploads
• Paste Text — add a long piece of text as an attachment.

While Viro is writing, the send button turns into a square Stop generating button. Select it to stop the reply where it is.

• Copy — copy the reply's text.
• Retry — get a new answer, either from the same model or from a different model or persona.
• Read aloud — listen to the reply. It's in the … (More options) menu. To speak your messages instead of typing, see Voice Input.
• Branch in new chat — continue from that reply in a separate chat, leaving the original as it was.
• Delete turn — remove that question and reply from the chat.
• Report response — tell Viro a reply was wrong, harmful, or unhelpful.

When you paste 2,500 characters or 40 lines or more, Viro turns it into a Pasted text chip instead of filling the message box. Select the chip to read or copy the full text, or remove it with the ×. The chip stays with your message after you send it.
