Scheduled has Viro do something for you later, or on repeat: answer a prompt every morning, watch for a change and tell you when it happens, or remind you of one thing on Friday at 3. The result is waiting in the app when it's ready, with a notification on your phone.
Ask for it in any chat, with the time in your own words. For example, "Every weekday at 8am, give me the top AI news" or "Remind me Friday at 3pm to email Sam." Viro replies with a card named Schedule this, Schedule this to repeat, Watch for changes, or Set a reminder, marked Needs your OK. It shows the name, what Viro will do, and when.
Select Schedule, Start watching, or Set reminder to start it. Select Edit to change the wording first, or Cancel to drop it. Nothing is scheduled until you select the card's button. If you don't give a time, Viro picks the morning (8:00 AM) and you can change it.
Open Scheduled
Select Scheduled in the sidebar, above Projects.Select New schedule
Or select one of the Ideas, such as Morning news or Word of the day, to start from a form that's already filled in.Choose Ask Viro or Reminder
Ask Viro answers your prompt fresh each time. Reminder posts your note exactly as you wrote it.Fill in the name, what to do, and when
Under Repeats, choose Once, Every day, Weekdays, Every week, or Every month, then set the time and the day or date.Select Schedule it
The schedule appears in the list with the time it runs.
Select the ⋯ menu under any answer and choose Schedule this. The schedule form opens with the question that got that answer, set to repeat every day. Change the name, the wording, or the time, then select Schedule it. The option isn't offered in a Temporary Chat, a room, or a story.
Set up a watch. Viro checks on a schedule, and stays quiet until a check finds something new.
- In chat: ask "Tell me when tickets for the spring tour go on sale" or "Let me know if the city posts the pool schedule." The card is named Watch for changes. Select Start watching.
- On the Scheduled page: select New schedule, keep Ask Viro, and turn on Only tell me when something changes. The Watch for a change idea opens the form with it already on.
A watch checks every day unless you choose another schedule. Each check is noted in the watch's chat, so you can see what it found. The notification, the dot, and the Today row appear only when something is new. The first check tells you where things stand. On the Scheduled page, a watch reads only when it changes after its time. Only a repeating Ask Viro schedule can be a watch, not a reminder or a one-time schedule.
- Ask Viro: at the time you set, Viro answers your prompt as a new reply. It can search the web and read your connected apps to do it. Write the prompt so it makes sense on its own, such as "Give me the five biggest news stories from the last 24 hours, with sources."
- Reminder: at the time you set, Viro posts your note back to you as you wrote it, with the word Reminder in front. Nothing is looked up or rewritten.
- Its own chat: each repeating schedule has a chat of its own, listed under Scheduled in the sidebar. Every result lands there, and you can reply in it like any other chat.
- The chat you asked in: a one-time schedule you asked for in chat posts its result back into that chat. One built on the Scheduled page gets a chat of its own.
- A dot: a schedule with a result you haven't opened shows a dot in the sidebar and on the Scheduled page. Opening its chat clears it.
- Today: the Today page lists results that are ready to read, then what runs next.
- Your phone: you get a notification when a result is ready, if notifications are on for Viro.
Results arrive in Viro, not by email or text
- Once: on a date and time you pick
- Every day
- Weekdays: Monday to Friday
- Every week: on the day you pick
- Every month: on the day of the month you pick. In a shorter month, the 29th, 30th, or 31st runs on the month's last day.
Once a day is the most often a schedule can run. A schedule starts within about five minutes of its time. Times are in the time zone you were in when you made the schedule, and it keeps that time zone if you travel. When you ask in chat, you can also give a repeating schedule an end date, such as "until June 30."
A scheduled run reads. It never changes anything, because you aren't there to confirm it.
- It can: search the web and read pages, check the weather, and read the apps you've connected, such as your calendar, email, to-dos, files, Notion, Slack, issues, and schoolwork. See Connectors for the apps you can add.
- It can't: send an email, post a message, create or change anything in a connected app, or make images. It also can't schedule anything else.
Open Scheduled in the sidebar. The page lists every schedule with when it runs, and how many of your three you're using. Select a schedule to edit its name, what it does, and when it runs. Select the ⋯ menu on a schedule for the rest:
- Open chat: go to the chat where its results land.
- Edit: change the name, the prompt or note, how often it repeats, and the time.
- Run now: run it once in the next few minutes. Its regular time doesn't change.
- Pause or Resume: stop it and start it again.
- Delete schedule: stop it for good. Its chat and past results stay.
Each schedule under Scheduled in the sidebar has the same menu for Run now, Pause, Resume, and Delete. You can also ask in chat, "What do I have scheduled?" or "Pause my morning news." Viro shows a card to confirm before it pauses, resumes, or deletes anything. A one-time schedule can't be turned into a repeating one, or the reverse. Make a new one instead.
- Paused: results were going unread. Five results in a row weren't opened, so Viro stopped running it.
- Paused: it kept failing. Three runs in a row didn't finish. If it fails again after you resume it, try editing the prompt.
- Paused: nothing changed for a long time. A watch found nothing new 30 checks in a row. Viro says so in the watch's chat and sends a notification.
Select Resume in the schedule's menu to start it again at its usual time.
- Three schedules at a time, on every plan. Paused schedules count. A one-time schedule stops counting once it has run.
- Once a day is the most often a schedule can repeat.
- Length: a name can be up to 80 characters, and a prompt or reminder up to 2,000.
Can Viro send me a scheduled email or text?
No. Scheduled results and reminders arrive in the Viro app, with a notification on your phone if notifications are on. Viro doesn't send them by email or text message.
How many schedules can I have?
Three at a time, on every plan. Paused schedules count. A one-time schedule stops counting once it has run.
Can Viro tell me only when something changes?
Yes. Ask "tell me when…" in chat, or turn on Only tell me when something changes in the schedule form. Viro checks on a schedule, notes each check in the chat, and notifies you only when a check finds something new.
Can a schedule run more than once a day?
No. The most often a schedule can repeat is every day.
Can a scheduled run send an email or change my calendar?
No. A scheduled run can search the web and read your connected apps, but it can't send, post, create, or change anything.
Why did my schedule stop running?
A repeating schedule pauses itself when five results in a row go unopened, or when three runs in a row fail. A watch pauses after 30 checks in a row with nothing new. Open Scheduled and select Resume in its menu.
